BT Preview By Mkul
"The TZLC 8 is starting for BT on coming Tuesday and I have some good news and some bad news for the fans. The good news is the arrival of our new goalkeeper Anand and the unveiling of our new home jersey. The bad news is that we will be missing a couple of our key players (Rafa and Shaurav) due illness and injury respectively. Still, BT have 11 available players for the match and thus, we will not be taking anyone on loan. Due to unavailability of Rafa and Shaurav, we will be making a couple of positional changes. We will stick to 4-4-2 formation because it has been working quite well for us in the pre-season. Anand will be GK, Suman (RB), Ankush (RCD), Bhanda (LCD), Sagar (LB), Siddhu (LM), Mukul (LCM), Jehan (RCM), Patty (RM), Shubhankar (CF) and Niraj (Striker). All BT players are determined to play with pride and passion and we will do our best to mesmerize the crowd. Finally, I would like to apologize to BE manager and away fans for a slight delay by BT in declaring ticket prices and seat allocation. I hope this one will be a thrilling encounter and all fans will enjoy the game".
BE Preview By VK
TZLC season 8 is underway and no doubt all the teams are prepared to put on an absolute show. For a couple of us new players on the squad this is going to be a world class experience and we hope to repay the faith the management has shown in us with good contributions. The eagles have a tough opening game away to BT. This is the same opposition that had defeated us in a pre season friendly not too long ago. But the lessons from that match are learnt and BE will have an improved performance this time around. Probable formation 4-4-2; Sherry, Prashant, Amti, Ray in defence; Bruce, Rakesh, Madhu, Groo in midfield & Harshad, Keano as forwards. There might be a change considering availability and fitness issues.
BT Review By Mkul
"I would like to begin by saying that both teams today owe a huge thanks to Jehan who collected the jerseys at midnight. We would also like to apologise to the fans and the ADC for the shambolic conditions of the stands before the start of the match. The home team made some efforts to clean the stands but that was clearly not good enough. We assure everyone that this incident would not be repeated. As far as the match goes, towards the end of 40 minutes in the second half, when the Ref asked BT captain Ankush whether BT would like to use the extra five minutes accorded to the home team, Ankush immediately said “NO, THANKS”. This incident sums up the match for me in which BT went down 0-1 in the first half against the run of play. We always expected BE to defend deep and hard and we were mentally prepared to grind the result out by being patient. As mentioned in the match preview we played 4-4-2 with Anand as GK, Suman (RB), Ankush (RCD), Bhanda (LCD), Sagar (LB), Siddhu (LM), Mukul (LCM), Jehan (RCM), Patty (RM), Shubhankar (CF) and Niraj (Striker). Our strategy was simple – exploit the space behind the opposition full-backs by using the speed of Siddhu and Patty. But in the first half we were not clinical enough and due to absence of Shaurav oftentimes there was no real target for our wing mid-fielders. In the meanwhile, we conceded a goal out of nowhere and we were under pressure at home. But this pressure helped us focus more in the second half wherein our passing and movement became much better. Amit’s sending off for five minutes in the second half was a crucial moment in the match because that’s where we managed to put some extra pressure on their defensive line-up. Then, Jehan and Shubhankar scored two superb team goals and we were happy to stop the match at 40 minutes mark. A winning start will give us confidence to do well in the coming matches. Thanks to the fans, the MO’s, the Ref and the ADC for the brilliant start to TZLC 8".
BE Review By VK
BE played 5-4-1 with Sean in goal (on loan); Ray, Sherry, Prashant, Amit and Robby in defense; Bruce, Rake, Sameer and Guru in midfield and Harshad as the lone striker. The match started with an excellent tempo with both teams creating opportunities before the game settled down. Around the midway point in the first half Harshad scored of a delightful cross from Amit by placing his header just inside the far post. Thereafter BT stepped up the attack but was negated by fine organized defending from BE. The teams headed into half time with BE ahead by the solitary goal. The second half started in much the same way the first half ended with BT on the attack and BE defending. BE were guilty of defending a tad too deep and that proved to be our undoing as BT had the bulk of the possession in our half. They made good use of the possession as Jehan scored first with a long range effort followed almost immediately by Shubhankars strike from a similar range. Sean in goal kept BE in the game with excellent saves. Unfortunately for us BT managed to close out the game and the match ended 2-1 in the home sides favour. The ref allowed the game to flow which also resulted in this being an entertaining match. The gap between the 2 teams wasn’t much and we have a lot of positives to take from this match and we should be fine after working on a few weak links including marking and transitioning between defense and attack.
Sparky Review AVGKL BE
I thank BE management for giving me the chance to GK for them today. I had a relatively quite first half with BE playing tight defence for most part of the first half. I didn't have much to do as BT couldn't come through. However second half was when BE possibly lost focus a few times and the marking went wrong. I couldn't have saved the first goal by Jehan as it was placed very well however I could have done better on the second. BE has some new talent and if they combine well they will have a good season.
Review By Mr. Khare
A match that pitted players playing for two different strategies. BE had come to defend and counter while BT wanted to continue off the Pre Season friendlies that saw them working on their calm passing game and looking to create opportunities. Both played their strategies well. Early on BE flattered to deceive as they went a goal up through a well taken Harshad header. They flattered because they couldn't keep on working their off the ball marking and thus the consistent pressure from BT proved too much to handle. The power of the Eagles Wings and Talons was no match for the slick passing that unleashed the Thunder. A looped ball that was put in to the box by Amti was latched on to by Harsh who excellently flicked the ball home. Relentless pressure told in the end with what I took to be at least 90% possession. Jehan placed the ball from 20 yards passed a static Sparky AVGK off an Mkul tee. Ashubh finished of the game after BT had struck the post and then Snowtops reaction was to slow for the bazooka cross from Sidwho?, when he showed the confidence and maturity with the most sublime finish I've seen in ages. Sparky AVGKL was left aghast.
BT - BT looked like one of those professional clubs or one of those World Cup top 5 nations that are so mature and confident in their own game that they literally WALKED through the match. And yes, THAT is my ONLY grievance to their top performance this morning. The reason I tend to switch the channel on the telly to something much better like Nat geo or Discovery after watching 5 mins of a game in one of the top Leagues in the world, is because of BOREDOM. The way they pass the ball around SLOWLY makes me yawn and I must've yawned quite a bit during the match. BT's opposition had a simple plan DEFEND in your own half. So what was the point in BT playing SOOOOO SLOWLY? But NOT to take anything away from them they are on the right path and all I expect them to do is to pass a little faster. BT's style is the TOTAL opposite of the 1st match of the Season. Their new signing Andysu, the Most expensive GK in the TZLC, was a basket of nerves in the first 20 mins but he settled down later. To have two Big Cd's like Anks and Bhanda is a dream for any club, but Q's need to be asked when the lone BE striker Harsh got the better of them on nearly EVERY occasion. Suman was more active then Sagerr at Rb and Lb. Suman needs to keep pushing his Rm Patty as Patty is only 13 and after playing under Mr. Khare, BT seems I'm sure, like a walk in the park for him. I cannot believe Patty made ZERO tackles, Zero runs back to cover. Patty played well and I know he can, at such a young age he has tremendous maturity, but allowing him to sign for BT means that he NEEDS to grow. Take chances and work hard. When your youngest player on the pitch is NOT tired after an 85 min match then somethings wrong. Especially during the 1st H Mkul was playing too deep. I suddenly thought he was the 3rd Cd!!! Here's another very fit player, that I DON'T think ran enough. VG or Jehandro as is on his shirt, and Mkul are building up a great partnership. Snowtop was also getting frustrated at BT's slow plodding and his darting runs were being missed. Ashubh was nowhere in the first half mainly due to some tight Man on man stuff from Amti but in the 2nd half he grew as a player when he started dribbling a bit. Sidwho? on the left seems such a delicate darling! Apart from his dodgy facial hair that is. A brilliant touch and nippy darting movements. Plays the simple pass when nescessary and crosses when needed. I don't think I saw many mistakes. The reason why I gave him a low rating was because he could've done MORE.Sagerr at Lb is quite a solid player when you watch his game. He's a tough guy and defends well although you can't expect him to assist Sidwho?? as his runs are non existant.
BE - If the plan is to DEFEND then you should be able to DEFEND with your eyes closed just following the mantra. Like Amti had the Man on Man job of marking Ashubh. Groo was brilliantly aiding the Rb Ray to mark Sidwho of BT. Sherry and Mario were alert and doing their stuff up to around the 60th min when their marking just fell apart. I heard Bruce shout out that if his team mates didn't stop shouting then he'd leave....that's pretty sad. Adults shouldn't be saying such things and neither should a chance for such things to be said happen.
Rake was RUBBISH. Apologies Rake but apart from just one or two things, it was NOT your day today. Robby always tries hard but is still super nervous, unless when he does a step over, regardless of the outcome!!! Ray on theother side was not having a good game either. What I had suggested in my Pre season preview was listened to only in part I guess. The 5 at the back part. I had mentioned that Amti should play up front, goals can come from this man but he needs chances. No doubt Amti did a reasonable job in his man to man duties while defending but this job requires a dedicated mind and unfortunately Amti's mind is also dedicated to scoring and winning the ball. This was the problem for the 1st Yc of the Season too. He's TOO high on confidence, ALWAYS!! While defending BE gave too much time to their opposition, Patty, Suman and Sidwho? and especially in CM to Mkul and Jehan. Way too much time and space. On many an occasion Sherry and Mario were doing nothing. Once Snowtop and Ashubh started working their magic, the end was nigh. The ball was fed a LOT of times to Harshh and unfortunately there was no one there to lap up the seconds. Harsh was actually winning the ball off Anks and Bhanda. there were no BE players to support. Maybe this was because of the defensive mindset? The whole point is to be able to SWITCH the plan when in possession..This BE couldn't do. Remember BE's goal came not off a passing move but of Harsh's nut from an Amti helicopter. Groo I'm afraid was just lost on the left as he had no support. He got no passes. What can a person do when the only times he touches the ball is when gets back to defend and only 2 touches in 85 mins of play in the opposition half. The last but not least player I'm mentioning is Keano. He played in Cm and even though he probably played without having an idea of his duties he still played well. He is the archetypal Cm of yore. Good at defending and attacking. These days the Cm's are either good at defending (Dm's) or attacking (Am's) that's why you have those dodgy formations such as 4:1;2:3; or summat. Keano created a few chances for him self and came close. He should have scored after he hassled Bhanda off the ball but tripped at the last moment. If he can get support around him he'd be a player that can score as well as save some in every match. Oh yes his through balls to Bruce were delectable.

RH Preview By Red
RH kick-off their season against the extremely dangerous, passionate and unpredictable BI. Many RH players are guilty of not regularly attending practice during the off-season but on the positive side they were working on their fitness and quite a few have resumed practice before the season kick-off. We are all very eager to get the season started on the right note and will look to keep things simple. The key aspect of our squad is the versatility of players. We have numerous players who are capable of playing in different positions. Our new signings are versatile and quality players in most positions across the pitch. The fans will get a first glimpse of our new signings Gambo and Pudang(Prashant) whereas Nick will be up against his old teammates. These 3 have got in immense confidence and experience into the team. We sure have a headache to find the right combination but as in the past seasons also expect the players to give their best in any position that the team requires them. We will most probably roll out a 4-3-3 formation but are discussing amongst ourselves the possibility of a 4-4-2 or even a 3-5-2 since most of our players have enough experience and knowledge making them capable of adapting to any formation. This being our first home game, we will go out there with the sole ambition of getting 3 points on the board and would like to wish BI good luck while hoping for a good competitive game.
BI Preview By Ahjoo
BI is excited to kick-start the tournament. The team is a perfect mix of old-new-young. In the recent practice game the team displayed a promising performance. Looking at the team composition and players available BI is going to play the 4:3:3 formation. BI is going to try and use the energy levels of the two young ADC youths in the team and the experience of the young & veterans in the team and play to plan. RH are a tough side for sure as they have signed a few new players with tremendous work-rate and technically ability. BI are going to have to be patient defend well in their half and see that the each player plays his role to the best of his ability. BI have had a major setback due to the knee injury of Ajoo who mostly will not play this season at all. The positive flip side side for the team is he will play the role of full time manager to guide the team from the BI bench, this will help bring some co-ordination in the team play and plan and also keep players cool and concentrate on their role. Going to be a tough and exciting game and the fans will surely love every moment of it.
RH Review By Red
RH started 4-5-1: Anna-GK, Kramer-RB, Mangs-RCB, Pudang-LCB, Bezzi-LB, Amar-RM, Mishti-RCM, TC-LCM, Sagar-LM, Gambo-CAM, Amu-ST. Managerial debut victory for Bezzi today. A good sign for the things to come. We started off very well and pounced on the opportunities presented to go 2-0 up. Gambo got his debut goal and Bezzi scored neatly in his managerial debut. Gambo went off with a hamstring problem and that is where we got our foot off the gas. This allowed BI to get back into the game. A couple of defensive errors led to the BI goals. Kramer was guilty for their first goal but credit to Goony for a cool finish. For their second, Pudang forgot for a moment that he was no longer playing PDFA and used his hands while going for a header. Apart from that instance, he did very well to adjust to the small ground and TZLC rules. He is another addition to our team who is technically good but does not speak while playing. We were lucky that we had a sub today and that proved vital as he got us the third goal. Kramer after having an indifferent game did well to score the last goal. Some of us probably took things a little lightly and it was evident that we were not giving our 100% during some parts of the game. We upped the intensity in the last 15 minutes of the game and eventually got the result. BI gave a great fight but were unfortunate to be able to field only 10 players. With 11 against 11 it would have been a much closer game. Goony and Dhruv really gave more than 110% today and were tough to handle. RH would like to apologize for the unprofessional events that took place today and will ensure that these will not be repeated. Kramer and Amar were the guilty parties. Thanks to the fans for all the support. We will look to iron out a few things before our next game.
BI Review By Ahjoo
It was the first match for BI today with two debut players Sachin & Shrirang. BI had to change formation last minute from planned 4:3:3 to 4:4:1 as one of their player Amiraj did not show up and BI had to play with 10 as we had not taken any provisional loans also. BI played 4:4:1 - Satish - GK (on loan in place of Hatki); Uday(RD), Anand(RCD), Atul(LCD), Sachin(LD); Pratik(RW), Dhruv(RCMF), Shrirang(LCMF), Abhishek(LW); Gaurav(ST). BI had a very shaky start with player playing out of position which resulted in some defensive errors and RH managed to score two goals and take the lead. As the match progressed and BI players settled in the team looked better and played to positions and roles and managed to put some pressure on RH. Gaurav got a good assist in the middle and managed to dribble the ball through the RH defensive line and score a good goal and reduce the margin to a one goal difference. In the last few minutes of the 1st half Anand took a bazooka free-kick and converted it to a goal to level scores. The second half I feel was a much better game from BI as players understood their role and played to positions and were able to move the balance around better and very looking more confident as with 10 men we came back from 2 goals down to level the score back. BI had two defensive errors towards the end of the match which cost us the game and RH capitalized and took a two goal lead. RH also had a great game.
Satsut AVGKL for BI Review
Firstly a big thank you to Ajay Atul for loaning me as AVGL. I must say I had a forgetful outing this time around. Could have done better with the 1st goal conceded, should have saved the 2nd and probably had more luck with the 3rd coz I got a hand to it. The 4th goal was again bad luck on BI s part. My distribution was also a bit wayward today. I would like to apologize to BI for the mistakes committed. BI came back from 2 goals down to level the game. I thought Gaurav had a phenomenal game this morning. Anand played well on defense, so did Uday. Special mention for Jhakas who picked his game after getting rid of his inhibitions. If BI can keep the same tempo throughout the game they will give any team a run for their money. Good luck to BI for the remaining matches. Congratulations RH!
Sleepy DL for RH Review
Firstly, I would like to thank RH Management and Respected ADC to give me the opportunity to play for the RH team in today's match. I started on bench and oh boy oh boy i was astonished to see Gambya n Amu linking up in the RH attack against the mighty BI defense in the first 20 mins of first half. They both were making moves so fast and swift, that BI defense could not work amongst themselves to guard their territory. Soon the duo scored two goals in that time. Unfortunately, Gambya got injured and i got the opportunity to play. The remaining first half i was at Left Back. I had a quite first half and the second half was completely opposite. In the first ten mins or so BI had scored two goals and the pressure against the RH team had grown tremendously. While trying to score a goal, amu also got injured. Just a few mins later, Belzzi gave me the opportunity to play midfield. That was the time I started my runs up and down in attacks and defense. After many unsuccessful attempts, I finally could put the ball in the back of the net from the opportunity rendered of a loose ball in the D by the BI defense. In the last aching mins of the match Kramer scored another goal sealing of the victory. RH has a good strong players, once they link up with each other, i think they have a chance to have a good season. I wish both RH and BI teams all the best for their future games.
Review By the ADC
RH - Anna's concentration levels have always been poor and they were the same today. From making FANTABLOUS saves to watching balls go past him. From one end of the spectrum to the other. If he can keep the concentration levels up where they belong than RH would never be suspect at the back. They are suspect though with an erratic Mangs and on his debut a Man clearly wary of the TZLC8 and their emphasis on fair play. The man is the hard man I will be calling Tony most probably. After one of the best Cd's in the world, Tony Adams. But more likely than not he'll just push into mf and I'll be wondering why I nicknamed him thus. I don't know why he wants to puch into mf as his workrate will have to improve and I can tell you that this is not a fit bloke stamina wise. By physique yes no doubt. Once he manages to tread the fine line between the over the top and legal, then Tony will as I have always known, be a tough man to beat. Mangs needs practice but I don't want to blame him as EVERY other RH player wants to play up top and play for gory than do the hard work at the back. Kramer sometimes makes amazing runs and sometimes plays like a prat and to me he is ditto the bloke from Seinfeld. What should I say about a number of players that played at wingback today? Beeraj is NOT a Lb and he played HIS 10% for 90% of the match and by ALL POSSIBLE EXISTING LOGIC he should have faded into nothingness but he probably had one of his better games. This goes to show that there are possibly only 4 players in the RH team that play to the way I coach. Amu, Gambo (15 mins then he went off), Amar and Mishti. The Rest are just vagaries of human existance. If I was a scout and had to give feedback to a Manager that was looking to buy players there's no doubt that I'd be able to tell him bucket loads about an individual player BUT if he asked me to give him a report about how the side works together, I'd pack my bags and work as an igloo builder. That would be way easier to do..freezing cold and all!! Some 1 touches, 1 - 2's were good and other stuff. Problem with every other RH player that includes TC is that they want to play the final ball. ALWAYS!!
BI - Firstly I must applaud Ahjoo for being fully kitted up to play even though everyone including those residing on the planet Nebula is the Delta system and his wife Vineeta. That's what you call being a part of the team. Good on you Ahjoo!! Atool needs to cut out his late challenges as he's right there in and abouts the 18 yard box. Play well for the whole match, make ONE mistake and it's just not enough.
His team mate in Cd was Andy the Pandy and he was wandering into everyones territory, great player and a FK specialist to boot. Hruday and Chinchin fared well, Hruday had a much better game than he usually does and was thereabouts all the time. Chinchin has a reasonable debut and once he brought a laugh to those around him when he asked Spock for the ball and Spock gave it somewhere else and Chinchin just stood there glaring at Spock!! Can you believe he managed to get the same ball back? Even the RH players were to dumbfounded to react. Jhakaas gained composure in the 2nd H but is only a fractured image of his potential. Rango was exactly like his namesake in the movie, slow and plodding but once he got into his groove he woke up. In fact I liked it when he was CLOBBERED by Atool and he shrugged his shoulders and got up. Unlike Groov in a head to head with Tony. Groov was moaning and groaning and I seriously thought that when I asked him the usual head injury test q's he would say his name was Angelina Jolie or summat! Groov played well as I knew he would in Cm but he still wanders around more like the Hulk when he's angry, not actually picking stuff up and throwing it about but clobbering into people more like. Spock was better and less prone to mistakes at Lm. But still not all there. Goony had a tremendous game today, I suspect largely because he's kicking the ball about with the KFANDRA lads in the evening and has regained some of his youth. He tends to talk to the Ref during matches and needs to be careful as the Ref is psycho and will indeed give him a card if he's in a dodgy mood. One great left footer that brought about a fantastic reaction diving save from Anna and a great run and finish. Hallmarks of a good striker. Needs to practice his shooting though. Clearly he's embarrassed about it as he won't join the KFANDRA lads in some shooting practice. He sets his son Shool on a mission to persuade all the other lads to ask yours truly to play short game!!
